BAND BIOS

BLEAK(http://www.bleakband.com/)-Four male humans. East Columbia South Carolina. Bonded by a common aggravation in 1997, the subjects showed phenomenal advancement. Pushed aside and overlooked they struggled to overcome senseless and unnecessary barriers. Irrational walls built before them seemingly without reason, yet reason there was. Once the subjects learned more and more they became aware of this reasoning. They grew to despise it, to resent all it stood for and eventually to destroy it. They created their own way of life.....of reasoning.....one that proved to be successfull and efficient for all that followed. One without fear.....without doubt. Life without anger and uncertainty. Yet still....it was taken away from them. Over and over again the battles were fought to sustain this way of life. A seemingly endless journey to which escape was beyond their comprehension. Four subjects connecting with unfathomable amounts of energy creating for themselves a soothing state of agitated emotional release and taking themselves and all that follow to new levels of enlightenment.*

DAYLIGHT DIES(http://www.daylight-dies.com/)-Daylight Dies was created in 1996 by Jesse Haff and Barre Gambling. The two had been playing together in various bands since they were around 15, but the creation of Daylight Dies marked the beginning of an extremely serious and important musical persuit. Various songs were written between 1996 and 1998, butthe two had been unable to record a demo due to living far apart. This all changed in 1999 when they once again lived in the same city. Together with Matthew Golombisky on bass guitar and Johnny Wooten of Sorrow Bequest on vocals, they recorded "The Long Forgotten demo". This demo consisted of various songs composed since 1996 and was recorded in the basement in which the members of Daylight Dies lived. The end result was a demo with varying styles and poor production. The most recently written song, "Stronger Days", was the only song which fit the emotion that Daylight Dies felt. Daylight Dies also parted ways with Matthew.
Within the next year, friend Guthrie Iddings was added as a permanent vocalist in Daylight Dies. Two more songs plus two piano pieces were written straight from the heart. There would be no more bullshit, Daylight Dies was ready to show the world who they really were. In early 2000, the band recorded "Idle", a 25 minute long CD consisting of these new songs, plus a re-recording of "Stronger Days".
With a professional production thanks to friend and live bassist Egan O'Rourke, the incredible emotional vocals of Guthrie, and the purely suicidal music the band had created, "Idle" has turned out to be an amazingly gloomy demo CD. The band is currently sending promos to magazines/radio shows around the world and is in search of a quality record label. This summer the band will write a number of new songs for their first album as well as play a number of shows locally with friend and live guitarist Robert Daugherty.*

DROP COMIX(http://www.dropcomix.com/)-Drop Comix, a band strongly bonded by a lasting friendship and determined enough to make their dreams come true, collectively set out on a musical journey in early 1999. Influenced by various genres of music they developed a sound that can't be limited to one description. The trio are as eclectic as the music they perform and they always leave their crowds lusting for more.*

ESOTERIC(http://my.cybersoup.com/esoteric/)-A groove oriented, all original heavy rock band from Marion, VA that provides a high energy "in your face" stage show, while at the same time integrating emotional lyrics with hard hitting riffs and unique melody lines. The band leaves behind many of the "taboo" stereotypes associated with rock and roll. They focus on proving that it is alright to be positive and at the same time knock the socks off an audience. Esoteric is: Oscar parsons (vocals), Jordan Powers (guitar, vocals), Joseph Powers (bass guitar), and Jerod Untiedt (drums). The band has developed a large local following and is focusing on creating a regional fan base, while at the same time expanding their touring radius. Esoteric is currently booking as many as seven shows a month and is intent on leaving a lasting impression on every audience that they encounter. *

JUGGERNAUT(http://www.juggernautsc.com/)-JUGGERNAUT was formed in early 2000 ..delivering a much deserved and needed jolt to the southeastern music scene. A sheer blend of metal and all its partners( power groove, death, hardcore, and funk). JUGGERNAUT found a way to offer a blend of melodic thunder, gripping, resonance, intelligent lyrics. In one form or another they have shared the stage with PROPAIN, FEAR FACTORY, SNOT, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, INCUBUS, VANILLA ICE, 2SKINNE J'S, STUCK MOJO, ULTRASPANK, RELATIVE ASH, DIAL 7,CORROSION OF CONFORMITY and many more.
JUGGERNAUT recently completed a 6 song E.P call Revival with producer Eric Oshige. The cd will be available through the band(via this website and shows) and FREE MP3 downloads from this site. If you get a chance come check out a show or other local and experience JUGGERNAUT in action.*

PAGE 3 (www.pagethreerocks.com)-Spartanburg, SCs based, Page Three (born April, 1999) consists of: Andy Shelton (18) singing vocals and playing rhythm guitar, Robbie Smith (18) playing lead guitar and singing backing vocals, Andrew Malone (19) playing bass and singing little backing vocals, and finally Kevin Huffman (20) playing drums. All members participate in the song writing, which brings a wide range of influences to the table and gives Page Three its unique sound. To classify Page Three in a particular music type is difficult. Page Three tries to combine Modern Rock, Pop, Hard Rock, and various parts of other types of music into a nice tight package. The way Andy sings is different and gives the music a different shape. The guitars and bass vary from song to song, mixing styles while Kevin always has a beat up his sleeve.*

REDSHIFT(http://redshiftband.cjb.net/)-In the fall of 2000 Zach Giles (vocals) and Tim Wright (drums, vocals) both enrolled at UNCA. They had previously played together in the band Blindsight based out of Elkin, NC and wanted to start a new band now that they were in Asheville. They placed an ad in the music department at UNCA which was answered by Paul Harrington (bass) and Nate Jurascheck (keyboard, vocals), who had both played previously in the band Boink. They met, but nothing was done for the next month due to another commitment from Tim. After a month, Tim called Nate and the four decided to get together and jam. During this time, Paul had discovered Evan Bloom (guitar) after walking past his dorm room and overhearing his guitar noise at 120 db. He was invited to the jam, and turned out to be the perfect guitarist to round out the lineup. Redshift has been writing and practicing as of October of 2000. Their first public performance came at UNCA's Open Mic Night on February 7, 2001, which spawned interest throughout the campus. Redshift hopes to start playing shows around the Asheville area soon, and will be working on a demo starting February 21, 2001.*

SCENIC DRIVE(http://www.scenicdriveband.com/home)-Scenic Drive mixes powerful infectious melodies with reflective lyrics that are sure to have you singing along after your first "Scenic Drive". The four members all grew up on the same road in West Columbia South Carolina, hence the bandname. They have acquired a musical talent that surely comes through in their stage performance. Scenic Drive is Jesse(vocals/guitar) and Bryan(drums/vocals) Chasteen, Kenny Edwards(bass/guitar), and Jesse Bowen(guitar/bass). What started in Oct of 1998 as a local show has enjoyed playing in such southeastern cities as Charleston, Newberry, Greenville, Spartanburg, Orangeburg, Clemson and Columbia in South Carolina, Jacksonville, Greensboro and Hickory in North Carolina, Savannah and Augusta in Georgia, and Bristol in Tennessee. SWIFT(http://www.swift-band.com/)-Swift is a modern heavy music band that utilizes the elements of grooveand melody, a high energy stage show and a unique "clean-cut" image to demand the attention of listening and visual audiences.
